In order to meet the growing passenger and freight transport demand, Govemment of Nepal has long felt the necessity of development of railway as an alternative land hansport mode for faster and cheaper movement of freight and passenger traffic' In pursuance to the objective, GoN through consultants has completed the Detailed Project Report for constructing proposed new Railway linesin

Reserve (PWR) and Chitwan National Park (CNP). There were suggestions to avoid crossing of PWR and CNP due to world heritage site and preservation of endangered species.2. Ministry of

system. Budget for this work has already been allocated - in this F.Y.20711072.3.
The objective of the assignment shall be to conduct Feasibility studies, prepare preliminary Cost Estimate and recommend best technical, financial and economical alignment. Theduration of the consultant's servipes is estimated to be twelve (12)
months.4.
Expected date of commencement of the assignment is Jan 2015.5.
