Trend of current smoking rates among Korean adults aged 19 and over, 2007-2017
[정의] 현재흡연율 : 평생 담배 5갑(100개비) 이상 피웠고 현재 담배를 피우는 분율, 만19세 이상만19세 이상 현재흡연율(연령표준화)은 2007년 25.3%에서 2017년 22.3%로 지난 10년 동안 3.0%p 감소되었음(남자는 45.1%에서 38.1%로 7.0%p 감소되었고, 여자는 5.3%에서 6.0%로 0.7%p 증가되었음). 2017년 기준 남자의 흡연율이 여자에 비해 6.4배 높았음(그림 A).
For the past 10 years (2007-2017), the overall current smoking rate among Korean adults aged 19 and over fell by a decrease of 3.0 percentage points (%p), from 25.3% in 2007 to 22.3% in 2017: 45.1% to 38.1% among men (7.0%p decease) and 5.3% to 6.0% among women (0.7%p increase). In 2017, the current smoking rate of men stood at 38.1%, 6.4 times higher than 6.0% of women (Figure A).
